1. Call meeting to order: roll call, determination of a quorum of the Board.

Meeting called to order at 8:50 a.m.

Members and Staff Present:
Las Vegas: Janie Gresspun-Gale, President, Fuller Royal, Secretary/Treasurer, Stuart Currie
Reno: Phillip Minton, Linda Read, Robert Bryant, Deputy Attorney General
Members of the board absent: David Edwards, Diane Kennedy

Welcome members of the Public: Dr. and Mrs. Michael Gerber, Tiffany Van der Stoker, David Spencer


2. General Discussion: The board reviewed and discussed the Nevada Homeopathic and Integrative Medical Association's (NHIMA) recommendation for board approval of an educational course presented September 20-21, 2001, by the International Biomedical Research Institute (IBRI). The board considered the merits of the course, which had been reviewed and approved by NHIMA. The November 3, 2001 letter from Mary Marsh Linde, legal counsel for NHIMA's was also reviewed and considered. Legal Counsel for the board, Bob Bryant clarified actions that could be taken by the board. Executive Director for NHIMA, Tiffany Van der Stoker, advised the board that all who attended were advised in advance that the IBRI course had not been approved by NHIMA, and no continuing education credits had been approved by the board as advertised by IBRI.
Motion: Fuller Royal moved that the board approve IBRI's September 20-21 course based upon the merits of the course having satisfied the requirements for NAC 630A.096. Second: Stuart Currie Action: Passed with 4 members voting in favor, and Phillip Minton voting against approval.
